What To Do If You Suspect Drink Spiking
Prioritise Safety. Move to a safe, well-lit place with trusted people. If unsafe, call 999/101.
Seek Medical Advice even if symptoms are mild.
Say you suspect spiking.
Do Not Wash. Place clothes and items in paper bags. Keep the drink container if safe to do so.
Document. Note times, drinks, locations, symptoms; save receipts and messages; photograph any injuries.
Inform The Venue. Ask them to save CCTV and incident logs; request a contact name/incident number.
Arrange Safe Transport. Don’t drive. Go with a trusted person or use licensed transport.
Protect Finances & Data. If theft/fraud suspected, contact your bank and change passwords
Emotional Support. Reach out to specialist organisations for confidential help and advocacy.
Follow-Up Care. Consider GP/sexual health follow-up, especially if there’s concern about ongoing symptoms.
